Haryana has a large chain of educational institutions be it primary school or schools for higher education. Living in Haryana??? You don’t require expensing more than half an hour time to drop your kids to school, as you may find school for your kids within the one-kilometer radius of your residence. So no office hour rush too and no danger of forgetting driving license behind the dressing table. In Haryana schools for attending middle classes are available within the radius of 1.87 kilometers and you may find a high school within a radius of 2.1 kilometer. Major towns of Haryana like Gurgaon avails best of the transport facilities.

These schools has affiliation from apex bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE or Haryana Education Board, etc. Qualification from any of the schools in Haryana affiliated with any of the recognized board makes you eligible to apply for the University admission anywhere, both in India and abroad. • Secondary and senior secondary schools - 3838

Technology plays a vital role in the development of a society, and Haryana is not lagging behind in technical know how. There are institutes like the Maharishi Dayananad University at Rohtak, Kurukshetra University at Kurukshetra and Guru Jambheshwar University at Hisar exclusively for the promotion of technical education and management studies. The CCS Haryana Agriculture University at Hisar being one of the biggest agriculture universities in Asia is dedicated to agricultural education, research and development.

In the year 1998 the distribution of total enrolment in colleges category-wise was as follows-

  • Arts and Science colleges 91. 04 %,

  • Veterinary colleges 0.33 %
  • Physical education Colleges 0.59 %, and
  • Oriental College 1.47 %.

The 12th class education system in Haryana comprises of two components i.e. general education and vocational education. First time in 1983 – 84, Haryana government introduced vocational education program in 24 institutions. This number increased to 118 by 1998 – 99 with seating capacity of 15440. The enrollment in these institutions was 16982 in 1999 – 2000. The literacy rate in Haryana is 55.85%, which is more than the All India Average of literacy rate.  Stress is given on the enhancement of primary education so as to check the drop out rate at the lower classes. Many other incentives are also given to students so as to attract them to the educational institutes.

The Haryana Government is chiefly concerned about literacy among females. The female literacy is vital for educating the society, as children start learning from home and these are the females, the mothers, who need to be educated to train their kids. Keeping this fact in fact in focus, Haryana government offers concessions and incentives for girls and especially to those belonging to backward / EWS and schedule castes. Scheduled Caste/ EWS girls in primary, middle and high classes are being provided with free uniforms. Scheduled Caste/EWS students are provided grants for books and stationery articles and given scholarships and reimbursement of tuition fees. Education is free for female candidates up to graduation level
