Kurukshetra University is located in Kurukshetra, Haryana, where the famous historical battle “Mahabharata” was fought between Kauravs and Pandavs. The foundation stone of the University was laid in 1956, by Late by Bharatratna Dr.Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic.

Kurukshetra University is a premier institute of higher learning in India. The campus of the University is situated on the bank of the holy tank, Brahm Sarovar and spans over an area of 400 acres. The University imparts education in diverse fields, such as, science, technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports.

The University also runs a Directorate of Correspondence Courses. It has 457 affiliated colleges and institutes in the Districts of Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Karnal, Sirsa, Ambala, Panipat, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula.

The Campus of the University has lecture theatres, accommodation, cafeterias, canteens, shops, seminar rooms,  and sports facilities, libraries and laboratories. The campus is surrounded by greenery and peaceful environment, both of which contribute to an ideal study ambience.
