National Brain Research Centre

National Brain Research Centre(NBRC), established by the Department of Biotechnology as a national apex center for brain research, is the only institute in India dedicated to neuroscience research and education.
It is located in the Aravali range in Manesar, Haryana. NBRC has infrastructural facilities, and a team of scientists from varied fields who are working on neuroscience.
NBRC has collaborations with RIKEN Brain Science Institute, Japan, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), USA, Pavlov Institute, Russia, Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), and France. In 2006, Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University (MNI), Canada and NBRC were declared sister institutes.
NBRC Campus
The main campus of NBRC is to be located at Manesar, Gurgoan District (40 km from Delhi). The campus has a stretch of about 40 acres of land.The research areas include Molecular interactions in gliomagenesis; hypoxic environment and cell signalling, Genetics of dyslexia, Molecular and Cellular Basis of Neuro AIDS; Human Neural Stem Cell as Models for Studying Neuro degeneration, Molecular and Cellular Basis of Neuro AIDS; Human Neural Stem Cell as Models for Studying Neuro degeneration, etc.
